Three businessmen from Connecticut founded Bradlees, a discount variety store. These three men decided that they should meet regularly to discuss their ideas for their company and put their elaborate plan into work. Looking for a neutral location for all of them to meet, the Bradley International Airport was just the place for them. Regularly these gentlemen met to discuss was successes they were having and which obstacles they were now facing. Their business plans were all about the opening of a new discount variety store in their local area. The Bradlees chain saw no slowing in their growth. By the 1990’s Bradlees became a publicly traded company. Soon, Bradlees began to purchase commercial real estate and introduce an open floor layout for their customers to enjoy in the store. The Bradlees company was a great company that had a plethora of stores mostly located within Boston and Philadelphia.
